Kopi Luwak - Civet Cat Coffee - Whole Beans
Kopi Luwak sometimes known as civet coffee or cat coffee comes from Indonesia. The Civet cat, which is a member of the feline family, prowls the forests eating the coffee cherrys. The coffee beans the pass through the animal, where its digestive tract breaks down emzymes, hence the reason this coffee is often called cat coffee, civet coffee and even civet cat coffee. The Kopi Luwak coffee is then collected by the locals, dried and roasted in the normal way. The result is a lush, smooth coffee with low acidity.
Unlike many, our Civet Coffee is roasted with the care and precision you would expect for such a delicacy. Our Cat coffee is roasted is freshly roasted in small batches and sealed in foil bags with a one way valve so the coffee can breath but the coffee cannot be degraded by the atmosphere. This ensures that you enjoy your Kopi Luwak in the freshest possible form.
Kopi Luwak or Cat Coffee is certainly one of the most unusual coffees available and very exclusive, since only around 500 kilos is collected each year. Civet Coffee is totally sterile and safe, in fact the Indonesians consider it to be the best coffee in the world.
